Fall/Winter Middle school curriculum is designed to focus solely on helping your Middle School athletes (MSA) secure a spot on the team.
The Blackwell Basketball program places a special emphasis on helping MSA enhance their role. Developing them to play with confidence and contributing to the team’s success.
3 Focus points
1. Ball handling:
The bedrock of all levels of development, your MSA will become more skilled and confident handling the ball but also understand offensive efficiency, and how turnovers can derail their opportunities.
2. Shooting:
Technique will be the emphasis with your young athlete, the detail from A-Z will be the focus making sure they understand the “why” as well as the “what.”
3. Following instruction:
Our MSA discuss “how to not get cut” from the team as much how to make the team. Following instructions is a huge obstacle to surviving the “cut.” Constantly needing instructions repeated, not paying attention, not being first in line, not speaking up, not volunteering are all the pitfalls that make our young athletes an easy target.
